The Mobile Marketing Association (MMA) defined standard banner sizes that fit mobile devices. Whenever possible, the Marketplace includes device parameters in the bid request. This helps with targeting campaigns and getting compatible ad variations onto the right devices.
Verizon Media SSP currently supports the ad types described below. By default, any of these can be delivered in response to a bid request. However, the publisher has the right to restrict this list.
A banner ad is an XHTML snippet that displays a clickable image. It’s typically written as <a href=”click link”><img ...></a> and includes an image tag to retrieve a tracking pixel. The <img…> element references the creative, specifies its height and width in pixels, and optional alternate text.
Text only Banner ads which include an XHTML snippet that produces clickable text are also supported. These ads are typically written as <a href=”click link”>ad text</a> and includes an image tag for the purpose of retrieving a tracking pixel. Both of these ad types are suitable for all mobile sites.
Most SSP publishers support MRAID 2.0 to facilitate the delivery of Rich Media ads. With the release of the Verizon Ads SDK in Feb 2019, MRAID 3.0 is also supported. Support for MRAID is broadcast in each bid request, in the banner.api field. See for RTB Buyers for more MRAID detail.
